Ringo Starr Announces a Major First in His Career
“‘It’s whimsical, it’s fun, it’s happy art, and you look at it and you can’t help but smile. It’s a chance for someone to come out and see another side to the creativity of Ringo Starr,’ said Scott Segelbaum, owner of the Rock Art Show touring show, in a 2019 interview with WTVF in Nashville. ‘Ringo donates 100% of his proceeds to his charitable foundation called the Lotus Foundation, and it’s the only way to get a real Ringo signature. He doesn’t sign autographs for anyone anymore; however, he signs on his artwork, because it benefits his charity.’”

“‘I loved Spin Art the first time I saw it,’ Ringo recalls. ‘I saw a video of some kids doing it and I thought I'm going to try that. I started with a small canvas and now I'm working on huge ones. You know it is always a surprise what you end up with and of course I love that part of it -one of the great surprises has been that I started putting canvases around the room to capture the overflow and whatever paint the spinning threw off – and those became their own art.’”
