THE ART OF STAR WARS

MAY 2018

This is the original, fully robotic R2D2, which was built in 1997, that operated daily at the Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World.  At the time, it was initially created for us in “Star Wars Weekends” which ran from May to June of that year.  In 2001, it was then used in the “Star Wars and Motorcars”parade, requiring it to travel nearly one mile a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

This robot also appeared in numerous stage shows, meet and greet photo opps,  and presentations at the theme parks , including  the infamous “Star Wars Weekends” throughout 2013.
